What You Will Do
As Audit Director, you will take a leading role in the strategic growth and operational delivery of the audit practice. Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as Responsible Individual (RI) across a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring sign-off of high quality work
Leading and managing audit engagements end-to-end, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards
Overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements and audit reports
Leading and owning client relationships across the privately owned and SME market, acting as a trusted advisor
Driving business development activity, including identifying and converting new opportunities
Setting the standard for audit quality across the team, identifying risks and championing continuous improvement
Ensuring efficient resource allocation to meet deadlines and quality standards
Contributing to the firm's strategic direction and playing an active role in practice leadership
Coaching, mentoring, and developing managers and seniors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance
Championing an inclusive and collaborative team environment
What We're Looking For
A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
Strong technical knowledge of audit processes and regulatory requirements
Proven experience in managing audit engagements within SME/ Private-Equity clients
Exceptional leadership and team management skills
Excellent client relationship management capabilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Track record of business development
Proven personal network across the Midlands is desirable
