Role Overview
We are working with a leading mid tier accountancy firm in Birmingham to appoint an Audit Senior. This is an opportunity for a qualified or nearly qualified auditor to join a high performing team delivering a broad portfolio of audit assignments across the Midlands.
You will play a key role in leading audit fieldwork, supporting juniors, and working directly with managers and partners to deliver high quality audit engagements across a range of owner managed and corporate clients.
This role is suited to an ambitious audit professional looking to build strong technical depth, gain broader client exposure, and progress within a structured but fast moving practice environment.
What You Will Do
As an Audit Senior, you will:
Lead fieldwork on audit assignments from planning through to completion
Prepare and review statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP and IFRS where applicable
Supervise and support junior team members on site and remotely
Engage directly with clients to understand processes and resolve audit queries
Work closely with managers and partners to ensure delivery quality and deadlines are met
In addition, you will:
Support the development of junior staff through coaching and on the job training
Contribute to improving audit efficiency and file quality across engagements
Build strong client relationships across a varied portfolio
What We're Looking For
We are looking for individuals who bring:
ACA or ACCA qualified or finalist level
Strong experience within external audit in a practice environment
Solid technical understanding of auditing standards and financial reporting
Experience working with SME and mid market clients
Strong communication skills and ability to manage client relationships
