The Situation

Following its acquisition by Forterro, the UK business faced significant pressure to integrate quickly into the wider European group. Finance lacked the systems, processes and governance needed to support group reporting, while a major ERP implementation had to be delivered without disrupting day to day operations.

What We Found

Finance depended on disconnected spreadsheets, manual processes and the knowledge of a single office manager. Month end reporting was inconsistent, controls were limited, management information was unreliable and there was no standardised finance operating model capable of supporting a growing international software business.

What We Did

Tierpoint provided experienced finance leadership to redesign finance processes, improve data quality and strengthen financial controls. We supported the ERP implementation, developed reporting aligned to group requirements, trained and upskilled the existing team, and established a structured month end close process with clear ownership.

The Result

The business achieved three consecutive month end closes in fewer than five working days, delivering accurate and timely reporting to European headquarters. The integration was completed on time and within budget, internal staff progressed into more senior roles, and a more junior CFO was successfully appointed through our network
